Ballard Center is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
One generous donor has agreed to match your donation to Ballard Center! As a result, your total donation amount will be double your pledge.
The Ballard Center continues to serve its mission of helping families achieve stability through early childhood education and needs-based services.
Since the beginning of March, we’ve provided $1,368 in utility assistance for 10 families through Warm Hearts Funding, and food for 1,200 individuals (over 300 households) at our Mobile Food Distribution. We’ve also delivered 1,400+ meals to families and launched an Adopt-A-Family Program, where 18 families have been adopted. Donors provide four supplemental meals for two weeks for struggling families.
A donation to the Ballard Center is a lifeline for families who are in need. In 2019, 244 children and families benefitted from our Early Childhood Education program, 543 household members were impacted by our emergency services, and 4,727 household members used the Ballard Center’s food pantry services.
In the past month, the Ballard Center has faced new challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our team has worked to navigate those challenges while maintaining support for our families. As long as we remain closed, Ballard Center will lose approximately $10,000 per month in tuition fee revenue.
On March 16, the Ballard Center closed its early childhood education program due to the COVID-19 emergency. This was an incredibly difficult decision, as we know how much the families we serve rely on our educational and wrap-around services.

Our priorities moving forward are as follows:
So far, we’ve been able to do all those things. But in order to sustain our families moving forward, we need your help on #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5.
