School is almost here, and it’s time to get ready! We know many families are looking for school supplies and we want to let you know that Ballard doesn’t do a school supply drive. Don’t worry, though — there’s help!

The USD 497 Kids Expo is happening on August 9, from 9 AM to 1 PM, at 110 McDonald Drive. It’s a great place to get free school supplies, backpacks, and other helpful things for the new school year. It’s open to all students in the Lawrence public schools.

There will also be fun activities and information from local groups. If your child goes to a USD 497 school, this is the event for you!

At Ballard, we focus on helping families in other ways — like with food, clothes, early childhood education, and emergency help. We’re proud to support the community every day, even if we’re not handing out school supplies. If you’d like to learn more about Ballard’s Family Stabilization program and the emergency services that it provides, click here.

If you have questions or need more help, just reach out. And if you want to help other families, get what they need, consider donating supporting our programs at Ballard.

Let’s all work together to make this school year a great one!
