Our chef and the amazing dude who helped set up the range posing with the range. What happens when you’ve been serving kids’ meals for years off of an older range, it’s on the verge of going kaput and you need a new one but you’re not sure how you’re going to make that happen?

You ask your friends at Douglas County Community Foundation for help!  Thanks to the Douglas County Community Foundation LiveWell Community Wellness grant, we were able to get a new range purchased and installed in the Ballard Center culinary headquarters.

DCCF LiveWell Community Wellness Grants aim to support the health of Douglas County residents by creating conditions that lead to healthy eating and physically active lifestyles.

When you’re making over 30 breakfasts, lunches, and snacks a day and trying to move towards local, fresh foods and zero waste, this range will be a huge leap forward in our ability to provide healthy nutritious meals and hopefully some amazing new recipes as well inspired by the sweet flat grill.
