Big shout-outs to Ms. Shannon, who got her CDA earlier this year, and to Ms. Chelsea, who got her certificate yesterday!  We asked Chelsea how she felt about getting the CDA completed, and she said:

“I am proud to share that I have completed and received my Child Development Associate® (CDA) Credential in Center-Based Infant-Toddler care!

Since beginning this process, I have grown not only as an educator, but also as a person and a mother. Over the past year, I completed more than 120 hours of training through Ed2Go, participated in a yearlong internship with Peaslee Tech, and worked toward my goal of becoming an exceptional teacher and caregiver for young children.
I want to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, and coworkers for your constant encouragement and support throughout this journey. This dream was made possible by the administration and incredible supporters of the Ballard Center.
I am beyond proud of this accomplishment, which embodies my dedication to early childhood education.”CONGRATS SHANNON AND CHELSEA!!!* The CDA is part of Ballard’s Living Wage Initiative, helping teachers to get the qualifications they need for our classrooms and for their future careers. After completing the CDA qualification, teachers earn $20/hour.
